PRODUCT TEST #2 | TCX COMP EVO 2 BOOTS

ADB's Tech Ed Mat Boyd has been putting the TCX Comp Evo 2 Boots through their paces for a year so tells us what they're like.

Like all Italian made products the TCX Comp Evo 2 boots are top quality. They are named after their patented Torsion Controlled System which is designed to stop the ankle from flexing while still allowing natural movement. The brands story began in 1999 and they were originally called Oxstar with the motto ‘focus on boots”.

We have given these boots a solid workout with everything from motocross to enduro. Not only are we out riding in our boots but we are also trudging through mud and water holes to get the best shots so theses boots have copped it from all angles.

WE LIKED-

COMFORTABLE – Right from the word go these boots were a good fit. They needed very minimal break in and have been a nice comfortable boot the entire time.

TOE BOX – I have a big flat foot that is wide across the toes so my feet are often squished in boots as the toe box isn’t wide enough to allow for my foot to spread out correctly in the boot. I found the TCX Comp Evo 2 boots to accommodate my size 13 flippers really well without squashing my feet.

GRIP – Even on the trail I found these a comfortable boot to wear all day. I even liked how the Michelin sole gave me grip in the dirt when trying to straddle a bike on the side of a hill. Often Motocross boots are slippery out on the trails but I found these boots to work well both on the track and in the trail.

DURABLE – I would estimate that these boots have easy clocked over 100 hours of ride time and they are still in great shape. There is minor wear to the soles but the buckles and Velcro are all still perfectly intact.

WE DIDN’T LIKE-

WEAR PADS – I have only had one small minor issue with these boots. A few months back one of the black wear pads on the inside of the boot fell off. It only happened to the one side and if I’m honest, it has never bothered me. It doesn’t make the boots slippery or anything and the rest of the boot hasn’t worn prematurely because of it.

CONCLUSION

Comparing protection and quality against other brands on the market only makes me love these TCX Comp Evo 2 boots even more. I have worn every brand of boot out there and I have to rate these as one of my favorites of all time. They give me great feel of the motorcycle while still giving me great support. In my opinion they are a top level boot with a mid-level price tag. I will happily keep wearing these boots.
