When you’re riding hard, clear vision is crucial, and both the Shot Core and Shot Iris 2.0 goggles stepped up in a big way. After putting them through their paces, I can confidently say these goggles handle dirt, sweat, and rough conditions without fogging or scratching.

The Shot Core goggle impressed me with how well it prevented fogging. No matter how much I pushed, they stayed clear, even during humid rides and heavy sweating from my lack of fitness. The anti-fog and anti-scratch iridium lens not only performed but looked sharp while doing it. After several rides, the lenses stayed scratch-free despite the usual debris and bumps.

Comfort-wise, the semi-rigid frame and triple-density foam fit snugly around the helmet, absorbing sweat without becoming uncomfortable. The 45mm adjustable strap, with its silicon band, ensured the goggles didn’t slip, and even though it lacks the vents of the Iris 2.0, I never felt like airflow was lacking. They were breathable enough for intense rides without overheating.

The Shot Iris 2.0 took things a step further with its ventilation. The two intake vents really made a difference on those longer, hotter rides. It felt like the goggles were designed to stay cool and prevent any buildup of moisture, and once again, fogging wasn’t an issue at all. The larger 50mm strap provided a secure fit, and the extended field of vision was just as good as the Core.

In terms of durability, the Iris 2.0 performed just as well as the Core. No scratches, and the anti-fog lens remained spotless despite tough conditions. Both goggles came with tear-off support, which is a bonus for riders dealing with a lot of mud and dirt.

If you’re after a bit more ventilation, the Iris 2.0 is a great option, but the Core offers an equally solid option. Stay tuned as we keep testing.
