Beta Motorcycles has updated its RR Race range for MY27, headlined by the arrival of launch control and quick shift technology on the 4T models— electronics first introduced on the MY27 RR X-Pro models and now featured on the MY27 RR Race line-up.

The RR Race models are the competition-focused versions of Beta’s enduro range, built on a series of engine, suspension, chassis and equipment changes over the RR X-PRO range, developed with input from Beta’s international racing program while retaining the brand’s Rideability philosophy.

Here’s a look at what’s new across the MY27 RR Race range, plus the updates that carry across every engine capacity in the line-up.

FOUR-STROKE: NEW ELECTRONICS LEAD THE WAY

Launch control and quick shift headline the changes to the RR Race 4T range for MY27. Launch control manages torque delivery off the line to maximise traction and eliminate time lost to wheel spin or uncontrolled wheelies, with five levels of control to suit different conditions.

Quick shift (up-shift) lets riders change gear without easing off the throttle, for faster shifts with no interruption to power delivery.

Both functions are operated via new LC and QS buttons, joining the existing two-level traction control (on/off) and two-map (dry/wet) switch on a redesigned control panel, which keeps its position within the handlebar pad — itself given a new look for MY27.

Other four-stroke updates for MY27 include:

Voltage regulator: An improved voltage regulator, delivering higher, more stable and more efficient voltage to the battery for a more reliable power supply to onboard electronics, along with increased battery charging capacity.

Titanium valves: The 350cc and 390cc models now feature titanium intake and exhaust valves, while the 430cc and 480cc models gain titanium intake valves — changes aimed at improving durability and reliability under the extreme stresses of racing while maintaining performance.

Cam chain tensioner: A new cam chain tensioner, carried over from the RX 450F, switching from a hybrid mechanical-hydraulic system to a purely mechanical design with a newly calibrated spring, for smoother running and more effective starts hot or cold.

 

 

TWO-STROKE: REFINEMENTS ACROSS THE RANGE

125cc: An updated piston on the RR Race 125 2T, aimed at improving smoothness of operation and overall quality.

250cc & 300cc: New main bearings on the RR Race 250 and 300 2T, reducing internal engine friction and improving rotational smoothness, reliability and mechanical performance.

300cc engine: Revised engine head geometry and exhaust valve timing on the 300cc two-stroke engine, aimed at more progressive response at low and medium revs and greater usability of torque across the rev range, without compromising the model’s racing character.

UPDATES ACROSS THE ENTIRE RANGE

Every MY27 RR Race model, across all engine capacities, also receives the following updates:

Chain guide: A reinforced structure offering better resistance to mud, stones and impacts, for greater durability and reduced risk of the chain derailing under extreme conditions.

 

Grips: A softer compound, designed to reduce rider fatigue and absorb vibration through the handlebars during longer, more demanding sessions.

Graphics and plastics: New red and blue plastics and a new graphics kit, for a distinct ‘race’ look and feel that sets the range apart from the RR X-Pro.

LED headlight and shroud: A new headlight shroud housing a robust, new-generation LED headlight, delivering a more powerful beam while consuming less power and extending battery life.

Front sprocket guard: A redesigned sprocket guard offering wider coverage and greater strength, for superior protection against impacts and debris, in compliance with the most stringent competition regulations.

Suspension: Updated internal valve settings on the Kayaba (KYB) suspension, refined annually by Beta’s engineers and race team.

Speedometer: A new, larger and more robust Trailtech instrument, easier to read than the outgoing unit and paired with a new, precise wheel-speed pick-up lead.

 

RETAINED FEATURES

The proven chassis package and race-specific components carry over for MY27:

KYB sealed-cartridge front fork — designed to offer maximum control and consistently precise response.

Kayaba (KYB) C46 RCU rear shock — a benchmark in competition, with hydraulic settings fully customisable via external adjustment for compression (high and low speed) and rebound.

Quick-release front wheel axle — identifiable by its red anodised mechanism, for saving time when a tyre needs replacing mid-race.

Reinforced handguards — two-component moulded construction for a racing look and durability under intense off-road use.

CNC alloy footpegs — with interchangeable steel pins for foot movement and superior grip.

Sprocket — anodised aluminium core with steel teeth, by ZF Sprockets.

Dedicated racing seat — with a blue non-slip covering and a document pocket.

Black anodised gear shift lever and rear foot brake lever.

Anodised gearbox oil cap, engine oil cap and oil filter cap in red aluminium.

Red anodised chain tensioners.

Automatic oil injection is not featured across the RR RACE 2T models to minimise weight, but remains available through the Factory Parts accessories catalogue for riders who want it fitted.
