This month the Yamaha YZ450F got a wholesome weekend away with the family. The past month has been wild and crazy with my racing team racing ProMX and NSW State Titles so to get a free weekend to go away with the family was fantastic. Now normally most people who are at a motocross track racing every weekend wouldn’t dream of spending their free weekends back at a track but for my family motorbikes and racing has been our entire lives so we packed up the ute, hooked up the caravan and off we set as a family to go riding and camping for the weekend.
My son is completely motorbike mad but my daughter is happy to spin a few laps and then park the bike up and go play with the kids. My son will ride till he runs out of fuel and then demands the bike be refilled so he can get going again asap. My son also loves that I spin laps with him on the YZ450F so I dragged it off the ute and got into it.
The YZ got a workout through the weekend, it wasn’t only my son that burnt tank loads of fuel. It felt good to be back out on the bike so I rode until my hands were sore and then parked it up to spend the night hanging onto a cold one around the fire to nurse my blisters.
Overall it was a wholesome weekend spent riding and camping with the family and the YZ performed flawlessly, I never needed to adjust a single clicker or touch a thing except pour fuel in the tank.
After coming home and getting back into the workshop it was time to give the YZ a service so it got a full wash and lube as well as a new air filter an then got an oil change and then a new oil filter all ready for the next weekend riding.
I know we have been mentioning about transforming the YZ with GYTR parts but with my racing team commitments and Mitch being away at Finke we haven’t been able to line up the time or the day to get it to happen. I am happy to say however that we have lined up a day to make this happen in the next week so keep your eyes on all our socials so you don’t miss out. I promise this will be a build you will all be happy to wait for.
