The Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team has announced it will no longer participate in the FIM Enduro World Championship, ending the Japanese manufacturer's official involvement.
The French-based outfit has been the official team for Yamaha in the Enduro World Championship since 2016 and experienced great results. Team rider Loïc Larrieu finished as the Enduro 2 World Championship runner-up in 2016 and 2018 and the EnduroGP World Championship runner-up in 2017. Plus, the WR450F powered rider also claimed the outright victory at the 2017 ISDE.
In the 250cc category, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider Jamie McCanney has finished as the Enduro 2 World Championship runner-up in 2017 and the Enduro 1 World Championship runner-up in 2018.
No details have emerged regarding plans for a replacement Yamaha team, however, team manager Marc Bourgeois said; “I would like to thank Loïc, Jamie McCanney and Cristobal Guerrero for all their efforts representing our team these last three years. We now have our eyes set on a new and exciting project and all details will be announced shortly.”
Outsiders Yamaha is the latest factory team to withdraw from the Enduro World Championship with KTM and Husqvarna ending their involvement at the conclusion of last year’s season.
