Factory Honda Racing Australia is proud of their 2024 Australian MX3 Champion, Jake Cannon, as he prepares for an international venture in 2025 after a remarkable season, where he has mixed it with the world’s top riders. The 17-year-old Queenslander earned an exciting overseas opportunity after proving his speed in America against elite competition. Team Director Yarrive Konsky is thrilled to see Cannon take the next step in his career.
“I met with the team from Bud Racing in Canada last weekend, and they were impressed with Jake’s speed earlier this year at RedBud,” said Konsky. “While he may not be riding a Honda overseas, our door is always open for him. Right now, he’s fully committed to winning the Australian Supercross Championship, and he’s focused on securing another title before he leaves.”
Cannon’s speed and determination have defined his season, with him currently sitting second in the Supercross standings, following his come from behind win the 2024 MX3 Australian Championship. His focus remains on winning one last championship with the team before moving abroad.
“This season has been the most enjoyable and rewarding of my career. Everything we’ve done has led to this overseas opportunity,” said Cannon. “I had the choice to stay or go early, and I wanted to stay to give Honda and the team another championship and reward everyone for their hard work. I can’t thank Honda and the team enough for this season. I’m all in to win Supercross this year, and I’m loving the 2025 model we’re racing. I’m excited for what’s next.”
