Located at Bob Robinson Park, 60 Kyle Street, Rutherford – just off the New England Highway west of Maitland – the Maitland District Motorcycle Club (MDMCC) is one of the Hunter Valley’s leading motocross hubs. With a community of more than 500 riders aged four to over 50, the club proudly fosters a safe, inclusive and family-oriented environment for motocross enthusiasts of all levels.

Whether it’s a young nipper taking their first ride on a 50cc or a senior chasing gates on race day, MDMCC has something for everyone. The club offers non-competitive riding for kids aged four to nine in the 50cc Demo class, with help available from the committee to organise first ride days and license requirements. Juniors must complete a Kickstart Program to apply for a competition licence, and the club provides support to make the process simple and stress-free. Senior riders who are new to licensing may need to complete a theory test and possibly a ride assessment, depending on their road licence status. The club assists with all the necessary paperwork and approvals through Motorcycling NSW.

MDMCC is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by passionate volunteers. Every dollar earned from race meetings goes directly back into track upgrades, facility improvements and rider development programs. The club exists thanks to the many locals who donate their time and energy behind the scenes, plus the businesses and sponsors who’ve helped support both the club and its youth members.

Throughout the year, MDMCC also runs official training days for juniors and seniors, including Kickstart sessions, endorsement training for larger bikes and skills-development clinics. Training generally costs $30 per rider and is available to current club members. All updates and bookings are managed via the club’s Facebook page.

MDMCC is located within the Rutherford Industrial Estate, making it easily accessible from the surrounding areas. The club’s facilities are situated just west of Maitland and provide a purpose-built motocross venue where riders of all levels can develop their skills in a controlled environment.

The Maitland District Motorcycle Club isn’t just about racing – it’s about community, family and opportunity. From its well-maintained facilities to its commitment to safety, inclusivity and growth, MDMCC has earned its reputation as one of New South Wales’ most welcoming motocross clubs.
