Triumph Motorcycles has announced the 2026 TF 450-X, a new addition to its 2026 motocross range. Building on the company’s debut into the 450cc class with last year’s TF 450-RC special edition, the TF 450-X arrives as a standard production model but retains many of the same technical updates first seen on the TF 250-X.

Engine and Drivetrain

The TF 450-X produces a claimed 62.4 hp at 9,500 rpm and weighs 108.3 kg. The engine has been revised with a newly designed Exedy clutch hub featuring optimised lubrication ports to improve durability and torque handling. A Belleville clutch spring has been introduced to provide more consistent engagement, while a steel clutch basket houses the upgraded system.

Other changes include revised engine mounts for improved chassis performance and a new gearbox selector star designed for more reliable gear changes under racing conditions. The quickshifter, fitted as standard, allows clutchless upshifts from 2nd to 5th gear.

The engine uses a forged König aluminium piston, Del West titanium valves for higher revving capacity, and DLC-coated rockers and cams to minimise friction. Magnesium engine covers reduce weight and aid cooling. Fuel delivery is managed by a Dell’Orto 44mm throttle body and Keihin injector, while airflow is optimised by the same airbox and silencer design first used on the TF 450-RC. Both components comply with FIM and AMA sound regulations.

Chassis and Suspension

The TF 450-X uses Triumph’s aluminium spine frame — a twin-cradle design intended to balance rigidity and flex. The hydroformed swingarm and race-developed linkage system reduce weight while improving rear grip and suspension response.

Suspension is supplied by KYB, carried over from the RC edition. The 48mm AOS coil-spring forks and three-way adjustable piggyback shock provide 300mm and 313mm of travel respectively. Internal settings have been refined to improve mid-stroke control, chassis balance, and cornering stability.

Braking is handled by Brembo calipers paired with Galfer discs. Lightweight D.I.D DirtStar 7000-series aluminium rims are fitted with Pirelli MX32 mid-soft tyres.

Electronics

The TF 450-X includes a full electronic package as standard: launch control, traction control, dual engine maps, and a quickshifter. Riders can toggle between settings using handlebar-mounted switches or through the optional MX Tune Pro app, which adds up to ten additional maps when paired with the accessory engine management unit.

The Athena ECU manages ignition, traction control, launch control, and mapping. A sensor dashboard displays live engine data, diagnostics, and service alerts, while a discreet hour meter tracks engine run time.

Components

Other standard equipment includes:

  • Neken yokes

  • ProTaper ACF carbon-core handlebars

  • ODI lock-on grips

  • D.I.D 520 SDH chain

  • JT lightweight sprockets

The cockpit is designed for adjustability and durability, with focus on reducing mass where possible.

Accessories

Triumph has also announced a line of competition accessories for the TF 450-X. These include:

  • Akrapovič full titanium exhaust system

  • XTrig holeshot device

  • Athena LC-GPA launch control module with LED engine speed indicator

  • MX Tune Pro Wi-Fi module with additional maps

  • Gripper seat and replacement bodywork kit

Dealer Network and Availability

The TF 450-X will be supported through Triumph’s network of over 300 specialist Motocross and Enduro centres across Europe, Australia, and the USA. These dealers provide sales, servicing, parts, and race support. Triumph has also confirmed continued collaboration with Alpinestars for motocross and enduro apparel.

A new Performance Yellow graphics kit with in-mould decals has been introduced for 2026. The TF 450-X will be available from November 2025 in Australia and New Zealand, with a starting price of $15,790.
