Quad Lock Honda builds momentum as Savatgy lands P5 and McElrath delivers season-best P8 in another double top-10
The iconic Daytona Supercross delivered another strong step forward for the Quad Lock Honda Team, with two riders finishing inside the top 10 for the second consecutive round, clear evidence of the team’s growing momentum.

The results reflect a collective effort across the entire program, led by Team Principal Martin Davalos and supported by a dedicated crew working tirelessly behind the scenes.
“Everyone on this team is going above and beyond, our technicians, suspension and engine staff, our sponsors and contractors. There’s a real commitment to improving every single week,” said Davalos.

Qualifying saw a standout performance from Joey Savatgy, who secured his best result of the season in third, underlining his continued progression. Shane McElrath qualified 12th, with Christian Craig in 15th.
In the heat races, all three riders advanced to the main event. McElrath finished fifth in his race, while Savatgy claimed second, with Craig crossing the line in sixth.

In the main event, Savatgy faced an early challenge off the start but charged through the field with determination to secure a strong fifth-place finish.
“I’m never going to be upset with fifth, but I know we had the potential for fourth or better with a stronger start. I’m really happy with where we’re at with the bike and the team, everyone’s working together and it’s showing,” said Savatgy.

McElrath delivered his best result of the season with eighth place, following weeks of focused testing and development that have helped him find the comfort and connection he’s been searching for
“Eighth is a big step forward for me. We found something this past week, and now it’s about building on that momentum,” said McElrath.

Craig showed strong pace throughout the night, posting lap times competitive with riders well inside the top 10. However, two crashes in the main event dropped him back to 13th.
“This one hurts. Crashing isn’t something I normally do, and the mistakes were costly. The speed was there for a much better result. I need to be better, and I will be,” said Craig.
With momentum continuing to build, the team now turns its focus to Round 9 in Indianapolis this coming weekend
