Team Green’s MX1 charger had the legs on the field but couldn’t convert, while West and the MX2 brigade gave plenty of reason for optimism
Canberra’s hardpack chopped up into ruts and square edges for round two of the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship, and Team Green’s day had a bit of everything. The headline speed came from Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki’s Dean Ferris, who clocked the second-fastest lap in a rough and technical MX1 race two on the KX450 and looked every bit a contender. The stopwatch told one story, the results sheet another, with untimely spills in both motos leaving him eighth overall and fourth in the championship as the series leaves the capital.

Brad West took a clear step forward, banking 12th overall and, more importantly, spending quality time at the sharp end in race two. He latched onto the lead pace early, even sitting inside the podium positions for a spell, which is the kind of frontline experience that tends to pay off as the year rolls on.

JPM 360 Kawasaki found traction in MX2. Ryan Alexanderson’s tidy 5-3 card had him knocking on the door of the overall podium in fourth and nudged him up to sixth in the standings, a solid return from a track that punished mistakes. Teammate Jayce Cosford continued his climb back from off-season shoulder surgery, posting 11-15 for 14th overall, the sort of building-block weekend that keeps momentum ticking.

One rider who turned heads was Kawasaki Team Green NZ’s Madoc Dixon. He stormed through the MX2 pack in moto one to grab fourth, just a second shy of the box, and wrapped the round seventh overall while showing genuine front-running pace. Japanese crowd-pleaser Haruki Yokoyama kept it steady with a 14-10 tally for 12th overall on the KX250, part of a healthy contingent with no fewer than 10 Team Green-supported riders lining up in the ACT.

For the Kawasaki’s crew it was a mixed bag that hinted at bigger things to come as ProMX heads to Gillman, SA for round 3 on May 10.
