Beta has expanded its popular XTrainer range for 2027 with the introduction of the all-new XTrainer 200 2T, marking the first major addition to the lineup in years.
The new model joins the established XTrainer 300 2T and is aimed at riders seeking a lighter, more manageable alternative to full-size enduro bikes, while still retaining the performance and capability required for technical single trail, hard enduro and steep terrain.
While the XTrainer has traditionally been built around the 300cc two-stroke platform, Beta has developed an entirely dedicated 200cc engine package for the new model rather than simply downsizing an existing powerplant.
The new 200cc engine has been engineered with a focus on low-rpm torque, throttle control and traction rather than peak horsepower. Beta says the goal was to improve rideability in technical terrain, allowing riders to maintain momentum and traction through rocky climbs, ruts, tight single trail and slower hard enduro-style sections.
The new engine receives revised exhaust and transfer port layouts designed to improve low-rpm power production and eliminate flat spots in the power delivery. A dedicated cylinder head has also been developed specifically for the XTrainer 200, featuring revised combustion chamber geometry and a wide squish band to improve combustion efficiency and low-to-mid-range response.
A new piston design works alongside the revised porting and cylinder head, with Beta using a dome-style profile to improve transfer flow characteristics and boost low-end torque.
Further changes include revised exhaust valve timing, dedicated ignition mapping and a model-specific exhaust system designed to complement the torque-focused engine character. A dedicated airbox intake boot has also been developed specifically for the 200cc package.

The clutch system has been revised for technical riding, with lighter clutch springs reducing lever effort and improving modulation in slower terrain where clutch control is critical.
The result is a motorcycle designed to offer a smoother, easier-to-manage power delivery while retaining the responsiveness expected from a modern two-stroke.
To complement the new engine, Beta has developed a dedicated chassis package for the XTrainer 200. While it retains the same overall geometry and riding characteristics as the XTrainer 300, the setup has been tailored to suit the smaller-capacity machine.
The bike rolls on an 18 x 1.85-inch rear wheel fitted with a 140/80 tyre, chosen to balance traction, agility and steering response.
One of the key selling points remains the XTrainer’s accessibility. The new 200 2T features a 910mm seat height, making it 20mm lower than Beta’s RR X-PRO enduro range, while dry weight is listed at just 97.5kg.
Beta says the bike is aimed at younger riders, smaller-stature riders, those progressing into enduro riding and experienced riders looking for a lightweight technical terrain machine.
Alongside the introduction of the 200cc model, both XTrainer models receive updates for MY27.
The most visible changes include a new LED headlight and redesigned headlight shroud, giving the range a more modern appearance. New graphics have also been introduced, featuring a revised red colour scheme and, for the first time, a black-painted frame.
Durability improvements include a stronger chain guide, redesigned front sprocket guard and an updated rear brake disc.
The braking package continues with Nissin components and 260mm front and 240mm rear discs. For MY27, the rear brake now features a new solid wave-profile disc designed to provide more progressive feel in technical riding situations and on steep descents.
The XTrainer 300 2T continues unchanged mechanically and retains the features that have made it one of Beta’s most popular enduro models.

Standard equipment across both models includes:
• Lightweight enduro-focused chassis design
• Electronic oil injection eliminating the need for premix
• Electric start
• Cooling fan fitted as standard
• Beta Progressive Power Valve system
• R16V suspension package
• 43mm front forks with preload and rebound adjustment
• Linkage-equipped rear suspension
• Adjustable rear shock with preload, compression and rebound adjustment
• Soft-compound tyres for improved grip in technical terrain
The MY27 Beta XTrainer 300 2T is scheduled to arrive in dealerships from September 2026, while the all-new XTrainer 200 2T is expected to follow in October 2026.
Pricing for both models will be announced closer to their Australian arrival.
