Rookie Billy Hargy put Husqvarna on the AORC E3 Championship podium overall at the last round in Nowra on the weekend.
Simford Group Motorsport Husqvarna rookie Billy Hargy has charged to a well-deserved E3 series podium following the final two rounds of the 2024 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) in Nowra, NSW, this weekend.
Still feeling the effects from a crash in the previous rounds at Kingston SE last month, 18-year-old Hargy stayed consistent around the increasingly rough-and-dusty Nowra Sprint tests, fighting his way to a runner-up performance during Saturday’s penultimate round.
Aboard his Husqvarna FE 501 with the Simford Group Motorsport Husqvarna team, Hargy again tackled the South Coast dust, roots and creek crossings for the final round of the series, and he continued to shine with another P2 performance in the E3 class.
After 12 rounds of action through vastly different conditions, Hargy completed his first year of senior racing with an impressive third-place overall in the final E3 Class championship standings.
Billy Hargy: “I came into this weekend with no expectations after getting knocked about at South Australia. Having to manage that definitely made this weekend a challenge! Apart from Kingston SE and some ups and downs along the way, it’s been a good rookie year for me and I’m happy to have finished with an E3 podium. I’m still only young with plenty of years of racing left in me, so I’m seeing 2024 as a good base that we can build off for 2025.”
