Round four of the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship was a challenging one for Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki, with the team already having one rider sidelined by injury in young gun Brad West, before Dean Ferris was unfortunately ruled out of the weekend following a heavy first-turn crash in MX1 moto one.
Prior to the incident, Ferris and his KX450 had shown impressive speed throughout the day, qualifying fourth in the morning session before stepping up to third in the Pole Shootout. Thankfully, Ferris has since been cleared of any major injuries.
There were positives to come from the MX2 category, with the JPM 360 Kawasaki squad recording its strongest round yet as both KX250 riders finished inside the overall top 10 for the first time. Ryan Alexanderson led the team’s charge with 9-7 moto scores for eighth overall, while Jayce Cosford continued his progression with 10th overall, highlighted by a season-best P7 finish in moto one.
This was Alexanderson’s last Pro MX with JPM 360 Kawasaki, we all wish him well with his racing future.
Japanese fan favourite Haruki Yokoyama also showed impressive pace in MX2, charging to P6 in the opening moto after featuring up front early on. A difficult second race impacted his overall result, however, his opening moto proved the speed is there.
For Kawasaki Team Green New Zealand rider Madoc Dixon, the weekend proved more difficult. After a DNF in race one, Dixon rebounded with P14 in moto two to finish 17th overall – determined to bounce back in the second half of the series.
Next stop for the Kawasaki Motors Australia-supported Team Green contingent is Appin, New South Wales, for round five of the 2026 Penrite ProMX Championship on June 14.
