Hunter Lawrence has thrown the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship title fight wide open after a commanding clean sweep at High Point Raceway, taking overall victory and slashing brother Jett Lawrence’s championship advantage to just two points.
The Honda HRC Progressive rider was untouchable across both motos at the iconic Pennsylvania venue, leading the majority of the day’s racing and claiming his second overall win of the season with a perfect 1-1 result.
Jett Lawrence entered the weekend as championship leader and fastest qualifier, posting the only lap under two minutes with a 1:59.977. Hunter qualified second ahead of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado, while Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rookie Haiden Deegan was fourth quickest.
In Moto 1, Hunter grabbed the holeshot battle before briefly surrendering the lead to Cooper Webb. He quickly reclaimed control and charged clear, opening a significant advantage as Jett fought forward from an 11th-place start. By the chequered flag, Hunter held an 11.6-second margin over Jett, with Prado completing the podium.
Moto 2 delivered another Lawrence brothers showdown, with Hunter edging Jett to the holeshot before stretching away once again. Jett settled into second while Deegan charged through the field and closed late in the race. Hunter remained in control to secure the moto win by 4.9 seconds over Jett, with Deegan third.
The overall result marked Hunter’s third career 450SMX victory and his second perfect 1-1 performance of the season.
Jett finished second overall with a consistent 2-2 scorecard, while Deegan claimed his second podium result of his rookie 450 campaign in third overall.
The High Point result significantly tightened the championship battle, with Hunter reducing Jett’s advantage from eight points to just two after four rounds. Deegan remains third in the standings, 38 points behind the championship lead.
