JOSEP GARCIA WINS 2026 FIM ENDUROGP OF SPAIN

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia delivered a flawless performance on home soil at round two of the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, securing a dominant double overall victory at the GP of Spain in Oliana. Backed by a passionate home crowd, Garcia topped the overall and class rankings on both days of competition to extend his championship leads. Teammate Andrea Verona impressed with a strong weekend, claiming two overall podiums and one in Enduro2 to further strengthen KTM’s position at the top of the EnduroGP standings.

Friday night’s Super Test saw Garcia set the benchmark in front of his home fans, posting the fastest time of the evening by nearly one second. The Spaniard went head-to-head with teammate Verona in the final battle of the night, with the Italian also delivering a strong performance to secure third place.

On Saturday, overnight rain created extremely challenging conditions, particularly for Garcia as one of the first riders on track. Struggling for grip during the opening lap, the reigning EnduroGP champion found himself off the pace early on but steadily improved as conditions developed. Delivering consistent top-five times throughout laps two and three, Josep capitalised on mistakes from his rivals to take the overall lead on the penultimate test. From there, the home hero surged clear to claim victory by an impressive 45-second margin. In Enduro1, he topped the timesheets on five special tests and secured another commanding class win.

Garcia carried that momentum into Sunday, immediately winning the opening test and taking control of the race from the outset. Maintaining an untouchable pace throughout the day, he kept his rivals at bay to secure a second consecutive overall win, this time with nearly 40 seconds to spare. The Spaniard also claimed victory in Enduro1 once again, making it a perfect four wins in class from the four race days held so far in 2026.

Verona also faced the difficult conditions on Saturday, sharing the challenge of opening the tests with Garcia and losing valuable time on the first lap. Despite this, the Italian remained consistent throughout the day, running inside of the top five before a determined final lap elevated him to third overall. In Enduro2, Andrea fought for top honours all day but narrowly missed out on victory, finishing second in class by just 1.5 seconds.

On Sunday, Verona quickly found his rhythm, moving into second place after the opening lap before holding strong at the sharp end of the pack with two consecutive test wins. Maintaining that impressive pace for the rest of the day, he held second overall to complete a KTM 1-2 finish. In Enduro2, he secured the class win, bringing his tally to three victories from four days of racing, continuing his dominant start to the season.

After two rounds, Garcia leads the overall EnduroGP standings by 11 points and holds a commanding 20-point advantage in Enduro1 following a perfect weekend at his home Grand Prix. Verona sits second in the overall standings behind his teammate, while extending his lead in Enduro2 to 13 points, further underlining the strength of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s lineup with a 1-2 lockout in the EnduroGP championship standings.

The 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship continues with round three at the GP of Finland in Vierumäki, Salpausselkä, on May 22-24.

Josep Garcia: “We’ve just finished the EnduroGP here in Spain and it’s been a perfect weekend for me – fastest on Friday, the win on Saturday, and another win today. To take another victory in both the overall and Enduro1 is an incredible feeling, especially here at my home round. I felt really good on the bike all weekend and was able to make the most difference in the enduro test, which helped me manage the rest of the day. Everything came together perfectly and I really enjoyed the racing. A big thank you to all the fans for their support – it means a lot to win here in front of them.”

Andrea Verona: “That’s the end of day two here in Spain and overall it’s been a really positive weekend. Finishing second overall and taking the win in Enduro2 is a strong result for the championship. I felt fast and comfortable on the bike, even if I was missing a little bit of flow in the enduro test, similar to yesterday. I also had a small crash on the final lap, which didn’t help, but overall I’m happy with my performance. The conditions were really tough all weekend, so to come away with these results is important, and now we look ahead to the next round in Finland.”
