Well, I can finally announce that we’ve transformed our 2026 Yamaha YZ450F into a CDR Yamaha Jed Beaton replica using a stack of genuine race-inspired parts.

To kick off the build, we fitted a heap of GYTR hard parts, including anodised axle blocks, a rear brake clevis, front brake line clamp and front sprocket chain guard. As you’d expect, all of the GYTR components were simple to install and bolted straight on without any fuss. For added protection, we also fitted a set of GYTR radiator braces.

Performance wasn’t forgotten either. To improve throttle response and overall power delivery, we installed the GYTR airbox cover, which increases airbox volume and features a ram-air style intake designed to force more air into the airbox. These are all genuine components found on Jed Beaton’s actual race bike, so fitting them to our replica build was a no-brainer.

Of course, Jed’s bike isn’t built using GYTR parts alone, so we also managed to get our hands on the exact Pro Circuit exhaust system he runs. The system features a specific header pipe designed to deliver the power exactly where Jed likes it, while the blue carbon-fibre end cap adds another genuine factory touch.

To finish the look, we fitted a Guts gripper seat cover, just like Jed uses, and had Kustom MX Graphics produce a full CDR Yamaha replica graphics kit, complete with the signature red number plate and number 14.

Unfortunately, this month also marks the end of my time with the YZ450F. My final ride was at a local club day, where I got to race the bike looking every bit like Jed Beaton’s factory machine. It definitely attracted plenty of attention, with kids around the pits convinced I was riding Jed’s actual race bike. While I certainly wasn’t riding as fast as Jed, I had an absolute ball, and the YZ performed flawlessly all day.

I’m also happy to report that the combination of the Pro Circuit exhaust and GYTR airbox made a noticeable improvement to the engine’s bottom-end performance and throttle response, giving the bike a much stronger, more responsive feel.

While my time aboard the YZ450F has come to an end, there’s still plenty more to come. We’ll have a full feature on the Jed Beaton CDR Yamaha replica build, where we’ll break down every part we fitted and explain exactly why it made the cut. And if you’re paying close attention, there might even be a few hints about how you could win this very bike.
