International stars Ken Roczen and Cole Davies proved untouchable at Auckland’s North Harbour Stadium, claiming clean sweeps of the SX1 and SX2 classes as the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship returned to New Zealand.

Almost 18,000 spectators attended the second round of the championship, with both riders winning all three finals in the Triple Crown format.

Reigning Monster Energy Supercross 450SX champion Roczen set the pace early, topping SX1 qualifying with a 50.246-second lap ahead of Townsville winner Christian Craig and KTM Racing Team’s Luke Clout.

The German then backed it up in Superpole, recording a 50.085-second lap to beat Clout and Craig in the one-lap shootout.

Craig had earlier won the opening SX1 heat ahead of Quad Lock Honda teammate Austin Politelli and Stark Factory Racing’s Vince Friese, while Roczen claimed the second heat ahead of Cedric Soubeyras and Clout.

When the gates dropped for the three SX1 finals, Roczen was in complete control. Despite pressure from Craig, the Pipes Motorsports Group rider claimed three consecutive victories to secure the overall win.

Craig finished second with three runner-up results, while Clout completed the podium in third to maintain his position among the championship contenders.

In SX2, New Zealand’s Cole Davies was equally dominant aboard his Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing machine.

The reigning 250SX East champion topped qualifying with a 51.626-second lap, more than half a second faster than MXRP Yamaha’s Max Anstie, with Lux Turner third.

Davies then won his heat race ahead of Turner and Quad Lock Honda’s Cameron McAdoo, while Kayd Kingsford claimed the opening heat ahead of brother Ryder Kingsford and Michael Hicks.

Davies carried that momentum into the finals, winning all three races in front of his home crowd to secure maximum points and the SX2 overall victory.

McAdoo was the closest challenger, finishing 2-2-2 for second overall, while defending SX2 champion Ryder Kingsford completed the podium in third.

The SMX Next category also produced a clean sweep, with Monster Energy WBR Yamaha’s Jack Deveson winning all three races ahead of Riley Burgess and Jack Nunn.

The Auckland round marked the championship’s return to New Zealand and gave local fans the opportunity to see two of the sport’s biggest international names competing against Australia’s leading Supercross riders.

The championship now returns to Australia for Round 3 at Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium on 7 November, where the AUSX Open will continue the SX1 and SX2 title battles.
