KTM AND TOBY PRICE PART WAYS! | Latest | News | Race Reports

Toby Price has just announced that KTM chose not to resign him for 2024 and beyond meaning this year was his last on a Red Bull KTM at Dakar.

KTM have decided not to resign two-time Dakar Champ, Toby Price. Toby Price and KTM will part ways immediately and he will not race another Red Bull KTM at Dakar or any other events this year.

Here’s what Toby Price had to say moments ago:

“Everyone has been asking me about what events I’ll be riding in this year, but in some personal news, KTM has decided to not renew my contract so Dakar 2024 was my last event with them” Price announced to his fans.

“I do feel like I’m still in my prime and going out there fighting for wins, especially at Dakar so it’s unfortunate to not have that opportunity to do it in 2025 but I’m really appreciative of the support they gave me in my career. We’ve been able to do some great things together like win two Dakars and get a couple podiums, a World Championship and our success in Australia too. A big thank you also to @redbull, @blundstoneworkau, @canamoffroad, @arb4x4 and @bfgoodrichtireswho have been riding along with me on the bike, really looking forward to the future. For now my focus is on the 2024 SCORE International Championship with Team Australia and to see what comes next”.

The 46th edition of the Dakar Rally in 2024 proved to be one of the toughest on record with its mixed, challenging terrain and demanding navigation. Organizers delivered 13 full days of racing, which included the new 48-hour chrono stage with riders sleeping under the stars with zero assistance from their teams. Of the 7854 kilometers covered, 4709 were raced against the clock.

Toby Price, racing his 10th edition of the world’s toughest rally-raid, delivered day after day fast, consistent rides at this year’s event. Following a navigational error on stage one, Toby bounced back to steadily climb his way back up the leaderboard as the race progressed. Securing several top-five stage results, including a runner-up finish on the final stage, Price ultimately completed the rally in fifth place, trailing teammate Kevin Benavides by less than seven minutes after over 52 hours of racing against the clock. An exceptional performance by the official Dakar Rally Legend.

There are several other teams that would snap someone of Toby’s calibre up like Honda, Sherco, Hero or even some of the more unique teams like Kove. We will let you know where he ends up as soon as we hear.
