This pack, the Kreiga Trail9 Adventure Backpack is quality because it’s tough and comfortable but it’s also very functional. Kreiga’s QUADLOCK-Lite harness provides an excellent fit that makes this pack very comfortable to wear. The material used is clearly high-quality because it still looks brand new and hasn’t flopped or warped out of shape.

WE LIKED

The QUADLOCK-Lite design makes this pack feel lighter than it actually is when wearing it, even when the 3.75-litre bladder is full. You can tell a lot of thought and testing went into this pack.

A weatherproof zip seals the main storage compartment that houses the 3.75-litre Hydrapak bladder. A strong Velcro tab holds the plastic bladder seal in place the so the bladder is always draining to the bottom where the hose connects. The bladder has measurement increments printed on it so you know exactly how much liquid you are carrying. I love this because it helps me calculate my fluid intake.

The bite-valve on the feeder hose comes with a hard-plastic cap which keeps mud and such off the valve, which is another great feature. The other smart feature I love is the Velcro patch around the feeder tube that mates to the relocatable spikey Velcro tab that I run on the right-hand shoulder strap. This keeps the feeder tube exactly where I want it for easy use when I need a drink. You can located this anywhere on either shoulder strap but I prefer it on the right strap so it’s easy to grab with my left hand while my right hand stays on the throttle grip and front brake lever.

The four-litre storage pocket is totally water-proof making ideal for your phone and wallet or any other sensitive goodies you might need to take on a ride. I can have the bladder full, a number of items in the waterproof compartment like spare gloves, phone, wallet, spray jacket and some snacks, and still be able to carry an enduro jacket rolled-up in the external pocket that uses a Hypalon net with elastic draw-string to hold it in tight.

WE DIDN’T LIKE

Nothing. This pack is comfortable enough to be used as a simple race-style hydration pack or big and functional enough for a full day pack when you need to carry extra.

VERDICT

For a pack that is so well made and comfortable to use, you can easily see where your money goes. Tough, durable, functional and it looks cool.
