XTECH FOLDING MOTORCYCLE CARRIER | Product Evaluations

The Sherco sat in it perfectly with plenty of room between the bike and my tailgate.

WE test the XTECH Folding Motorcycle Carrier.

Some people may find it strange to see a dirtbike on a motorcycle carrier when you have a ute. I certainly did. Then I had kids. All of a sudden the space in my tub was full of balance bikes, prams, bassinets and other cumbersome items that come with having children. There was no room for the most precious cargo of all… my dirtbike (you thought I was going to say my kids, didn’t you?!).

So I grabbed one of these folding motorcycle carriers from XTECH because I was tight on space in the tub and also in my garage and the idea of it folding sounded like it might be smaller to store. I liked how it could easily take my Sherco 300SEF Factory with a carrying capacity of 181kg. I liked that it had four tie-down points and a front wheel lock plus a loading ramp. From all the pictures I’d seen it looked sturdy as well.

When I got it I was pleased with the build quality and black finish for $309.95. I fitted it up to my ute and the Sherco sat in it perfectly with plenty of room between the bike and my tailgate. When driving around it didn’t bounce or rock awkwardly back and forth. For it to fold you need to remove the brackets that hold it flat which is a bit of a pain in the arse but my Milwaukee Rachet gets all six bolts undone in under two minutes.
