Jonathan Barragan Battles Tragedy to Finish EnduroGP World Championship | News

Jonathan Barragán finished the EnduroGP World Championship in ninth place, despite the tragic death of his brother, Jesús, in a training accident.

Barragán raced the Enduro 2 category aboard his 2018 Gas Gas EC 250 in the final round of the EnduroGP World Championship, held in Zschopau, Germany.

The race was one of the toughest in the last few years of the championship, with mud and rain exacerbating the already technical terrain, but the Gas Gas Factory Team rider pushed aboard his Spanish-built machine, which debuted in the World Championship this year.

Barragán described it as “a ride through hell in Germany… one of the hardest races I can remember.”

After suffering a problem in the extreme section of the event on the first day, resulting in a drop in classifications, Barragán finished the day in thirteenth.

However, he raced through the poor conditions on the second day to an eighth place finish.

In addition, Barragán had to deal with the emotions of losing his brother in tragic circumstances.

“Everything has been very complicated after the hard days that we have lived through with my family after my brother’s accident.”
