The 2020 Myrtleford Alpine Rally committee has announced this year's event will not proceed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Myrtleford Alpine Rally organisers stated organising the event was becoming increasingly difficult due to the unknowns around mass gatherings beyond both the Federal and State Government’s roll-out of restrictions.
“Without a clear path to the end of this pandemic and the full easing of social restrictions, the obstacles to running a successful event are nearly insurmountable.
“We are a regional event and with state borders closed, the Melbourne urbanised area being in lockdown and the threat of further restrictions, we would only disappoint all our riders, industry partners/friends, long-standing sponsors along with the many visitors who have happily attended and supported us each year.
“This has been a difficult decision for our committee to make – no doubt about that.”
